Being aligned, staying centred and in the heart…what?

There’s so much talk about—being aligned, staying centred, staying in your heart. But what does this really mean?

Everyone has or will have a personal experience of these statements, so using words can only take us so far.

But we can find the answer with the help of the trees. The trees can help us!

Wisdom of the trees

There’s so much wisdom in the trees.

If you want to have an answer to this question, or actually any question at all, about what it means to be aligned, centred and in your heart—Just go out and hug a tree!

Put your phone away, grab your arms around the tree and just be there.

When you’re finished, remember so say thank you to the tree.

Messages from the wise ones

On my way to work I drive by a special tree, that stands by a gate. I call it the Guardian of the forest.

Usually, I also stop by the tree and hug it.

So I did also yesterday.

I got out from the car, walked to the tree, and say “hi”. Stood there in silence for a while and then I asked the tree what I usually ask:

“Do you have any message for me today?”

And the tree said:

“Well do you always need a message, can’t you just be?”

Hah! What a perfect -and funny answer! Who said nature wouldn’t have humour too!

If we think about this deeper, it's actually a very profound teaching from the forest and the trees!

Just Be. Breathe. Just stay there. Allow everything to be. There’s an immediate stillness that arrives from within.

When you hug a tree, you will immediately be uplifted to that state of being, that we can call being in alignment, being centred and being in the heart.

We get an actual experience of it, we don’t have to force it, it just arrives.

And I know not everyone can go out and hug a tree, then surround yourself with a plant or two. Perhaps some flowers.

Science vs. feeling

There's plenty of research about the positive effects of the forest on body and mind. Just google and you'll find plenty of reserach saying the same. The benefits of spending time in nature or the forest are undenialble. For instance, here's a link to Harvard Health Publishing/Harvard Medical School. https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/can-forest-therapy-enhance-health-and-well-being-2020052919948

Science can be right or wrong, but your own feeling is always right, right!?

Instead of reading about the positive effects of being out in nature, I would like to suggest to actually immerse yourself in one way or the other in nature and see how that makes you feel.

Go out for a walk in nature, sit in silence, feel the softness of some moss, look a the sunset from your favourite beach, hug a tree, talk to a plant or even just look at a picture of a green forest!

How do you feel after 10 minutes? How after 20 minutes?

Gratitude in return

Mother nature brings us peace, joy, serenity, calmness, stillness, aliveness and more—in an instant, without us having to do really anything, except to connect with nature in one way or the other.

Mother nature is so generous with us!

In return we can say “Thank you” to Mother nature.

Not a “thank you” because it’s a polite thing to do, but because we really feel grateful.

And now, Thank You for taking the time to read!

Much love,

-Monika💚
