Life Purpose and why I am here

I'm starting to think my life purpose is to think about my life purpose ;-)

However, giving myself the benefit of doubt, so I need to question this thought.

Even if what I said in the first sentence is a joke, every joke has an pinch of truth in it. As far as I can remember, I've been pondering about the meaning of life and why I am here.

Finding the nectar

Life has given us so many ups and downs that it can not all be in vain or a mistake.

We've all had feelings of hopelessness, shame and guilt as well as feeling stuck and irritated without even being able to pinpoint what we aren't happy with. It's all part of this human experience, however we can lift ourselves up. Instead of thinking it all just suc*s, why not try to find something beautiful in it, that helps you to evolve as a human and spiritual being.

This summer I had plenty of free time to just sit outside and observe how the butterflies and bumble bees put their tiny little trunk in the flowers to drink and enjoy the nectar of it. And then, off they go, leaving it behind and flying to the next flower, a.k.a. life experience.

We can do the same. We can change our perception of a situation, and see what good we may find in that life experience.

For instance, one of my family members has a physical issue that doctors say can not be treated. This has made me very sad, but at the same time it has cracked my heart more open to realize how much I love this family member. We can find the beauty in every flower life gives us, and we can start right away!

What nectar can you find in a difficult life situation - big or small - that will help you evolve?

Finding your passion

For a long time I've had a nagging feeling inside, that my life is slipping by and that I am not living my purpose. Now, looking back, this happens every time I take on a job that takes all my energy and I stop writing and speaking about spirituality. '

And there it is!

Life purpose: To speak, write and create about spirituality.

What form or modality the life purpose takes may vary from time to time and I think we should allow it to change and evolve with us. We can try different things without loosing sight of our main life purpose.

Is your soul hiding?

I believe we all deep inside know why it is we are here on earth. It doesn't directly need to be linked to something "spiritual", because whole life is in fact spiritual, because we came here as a soul and that didn't disappear anywhere regardless of what happened in life. Well, at least not fully.

According to Andean cosmovision, that I've been studying since 2020, tiny fragments of our soul might go hiding because of more or less traumatic life experience, even daily life experiences might have this effect. We can call ourselves back in many ways, give our inner child the reassurance that it is safe to be here in the body. In the Andean cosmovision the qechua word "hampuy" (means “come back” in this context) is used to call oneself or others back. Simply say "Hampuy - 'your name' - hampuy hampuy". I like to put my hands on my chest while doing so.

Know your life purpose clearly

Now, some questions to answer to become clear about your life purpose. I encourage you to write it down, pen on paper, not only using you smart phone.

  1. What is closest to your heart? -> Become still and intuitively feel the anser.

  2. What do you still long to experience in this life? -> If this was your last day, what would you regret not doing?

  3. What awakens both respect and deep fear of success inside of you? -> It might be the fear to be seen and heard that holds us back from taking the next steps.

  4. What are you constantly thinking about, wishing you knew "how to", or perhaps you are already doing it but wish you have more time for it? -> We don't need to be perfect to start.

  5. What is Your life purpose? -> You have all the answers within you, now try to put it down in one simple sentence.

Take the first step

I'm returning to the first sentence of this blog post:

"I'm starting to think my life purpose is to think about my life purpose" ;-)

And I realized that even if it sounds crazy it is not far from the truth.

Yes, I will be thinking about our existence here on earth probably for the rest of my life and that's fine. It is part of my life purpose. Those thought processes and the desire to know the truth gives me fuel to speak, write and create content about spirituality and life purpose.

The questions shows the way. The answer appears as we walk the road forward.

In other words, what we find most intriguing could be where we find the answer. Yet, we don't need to have all the answers and a ready made road map to live our life purpose. But we do need to take some action to live it. We need to take the first step - and the the next.

Without action we are not fulfilling our life purpose.
